When we talk about using a GS1 Digital Link in a barcode, we typically refer to it being encoded in a QR code powered by GS1, as QR codes are currently the easiest way to access a URL through a phone’s native camera.  

Not only will stakeholders benefit from online use-cases, as GS1 Digital Link incorporates GS1 identifiers it can also be used ‘offline’ too. For example, QR codes powered by GS1 can contain a GTIN meaning that it will scan at point of sale in store in future, as well as improving traceability across the supply chain.
