Of course, the main benefit of using any QR code is that you can use it to easily access digital content. QR codes powered by GS1 are no different in this regard - you’ll be able to access online information via your phone from anywhere (depending on network availability).
Unlike regular QR codes, however, QR codes powered by GS1 can also be used 'offline'. They can be scanned at point of sale, for inventory management purposes and across the supply chain without the user being connected to the internet, as data could be accessed from locally-managed systems/databases.
This is all made possible because QR codes powered by GS1 encode the GS1 identifiers, such as the Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), that have been making business processes more efficient for 50 years.
